Home Help

Assistance at home for SeniorsOWCS coordinates a Home Help Program for seniors who require assistance cleaning their home. Brokered workers perform a variety of household tasks from light to heavy housecleaning. General Housecleaning includes: dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning the bathroom, cleaning the kitchen, changing/making the bed, laundry, ironing, washing dishes, wiping the fridge and stove, wiping mirrors, cleaning walls around door knobs and light switches etc. Heavy Housecleaning duties would include: washing curtains, cleaning the refrigerator, cleaning the oven and stove, washing floors by hand, polishing silver, moving heavy furniture to clean, turning a mattress and interior window washing.

 

Cost: The rates for Home Help depend on the type of cleaning requested as follows:

General Housecleaning is 12.00 an hour with a 2 hour minimum (after two hours, half an hour increments will be charged).

Heavy Housecleaning is 14.00 an hour with a 1 hour minimum (after one hour, half an hour increments will be charged).
