Adult Day Program

Adult Day Program in OttawaOWCS offers Adult Day Support Programs for seniors Monday to Thursday each week. This program provides supervised activities in a group setting that promote health and well being as well as an opportunity for socialization for seniors living in isolation, with physical frailty or with Alzheimers/dementia. This program is also designed to give respite to the Day Program client’s primary caregiver. Day Program clients are frequently entertained by volunteer musicians, dancers and even story tellers. The Day Program also receives visits from local professionals and advocates who speak on a wide variety of current topics of interest. Day Program clients may be offered opportunities to go on special outings to places like the sugar bush.

The Adult Day program runs from Monday to Thursday each week onsite at the OWCS office (1137 Wellington Street W) from 10:00am – 2:00pm. A hot meal is provided for lunch and transportation Is available as resources permit.

During the 2010-2011 fiscal year, 123 clients were provided with 2,624 days of service.

Cost: The Adult Day Program is $15.00 a day and transportation is an extra $5.00.
